A career officer in the Israel Defense Forces, he retired with the rank of Brigadier General after serving for three years as the Chief Artillery Officer. His previous positions included Head of the Management and Planning Department of the Ground Forces and Head of the Operational Planning Department at General Staff Headquarters.
